Executive Director of Continuous Improvement
Bruce spent 36 years in semi-conductor manufacturing with IBM and Intel. In 1998 he became a certified Jonah in systems thinking from the Goldratt Institute. He went on to earn his Bronze Lean certification from SME in 2008 and a Lean Six-Sigma Black Belt certification in 2009. Bruce led the adoption of lean to preventive maintenance (High Precision Maintenance) for semiconductor manufacturing equipment at Intel resulting in a 50% improvement in capital equipment availability, >$15M reduction in commodity spending, Best in Class (BIC) equipment parametric matching, and 20% improvement in work-method safety. The capital equipment availability improvement saved over $250M in additional capital equipment purchases. Bruce now leads a team that applies the same principles to small to medium size contractors. Bruce is passionate about eliminating waste, leadership development, and creating cultures of continuous learning
Prior to joining Relevate, Zac worked at both the general contractor and trade subcontractor levels, gaining valuable construction management and leadership experience. While working as a project manager for a prominent national electrical contractor, Zac participated in Intel's first IPD/IFOA project in Arizona and has sought to bring Lean/IPD ideals and practices to every project team he has been on since. In addition to cultivating the typical project management skills (team leadership, project maintenance, effective communication, etc.), Zac works to build effective project teams by focusing on building trust through open communication, making and keeping reliable commitments, and cultivating an attitude of continuous improvement.
